DEQ updates resource form for OPO professionals

UNOS’ Department of Evaluation and Quality has recently updated a resource form for OPO staff to use in verifying the accuracy of documentation, labeling and packaging of transplantable organs. Although you are not required to use this form, you will find it helpful since it summarizes in one location key information that OPTN site surveyors review during their visits to OPOs.

You can access the revised form on the OPTN Web site. It provides additional space to document the use of extra blood vessels and tissue typing material. You are encouraged to use the revised form effective September 1, 2012.
