Update on HRSA’s Workplace Partnership For Life Hospital Campaign

Nearly 600 hospitals and 82 transplant centers throughout the nation are taking part in the Workplace Partnership for Life Hospital Campaign to register organ donors. The Let Life Bloom campaign, launched by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) in June 2011, encourages hospitals and transplant centers to coordinate donor awareness and registry enrollment activities with their staff, patients, and community members. The goal of the campaign is to register 300,000 new donors nationally by May 2013.

Enrolled hospitals and transplant centers are working with their organ procurement organizations (OPOs) and/or Donate Life America (DLA) affiliates to plan outreach and registry activities. In many cases, their state and local hospital associations are also participating in the campaign.

To encourage more communications and registry activities, HRSA recently introduced a challenge by which hospitals and transplant centers can earn recognition based on their level of activity in the campaign. The Phase II Challenge Scorecard (available here) provides a menu of activity options and allows hospitals to track their activity points toward gold, silver, or bronze recognition.

It’s not too late to join the campaign or take part in the challenge. Contact your OPO/DLA about the campaign or email [email protected]. See a full list of enrolled hospitals and transplant centers here.
